Know me more 💞🌚

Hey all!! Welcome to my blog !

This is all new to me so bear with me please ^^  .

I have been trying to start a blog for 3 years now but  never found the right time to do it. My passion for reading started when I was 17, right after I graduated high-school. My English teacher gave me 12 books as a graduation gift and that's when it all started.

It used to take me a month to finish a single book and before I knew it, I was reading one book a day. I spent my years in college indulging in reading and living in  different worlds. Books have opened my eyes on so many things and helped me growing and maturing.

I started with books about mystery and imagination and ended up finding my genre: Romance. Everytime I finish a book all I want to do is discuss it, share my thoughts on it, and swoon with my friends about it. Except my closest friends don't share this passion and love for books with me. And so, what led me to blogging is the love of sharing my thoughts on books.

When it comes to the books I read, I tend to be a little picky but I'm always open to new things as long as the writing is great! I love a book that leaves me holding my breath without realizing. Romance books filled with angst and deep emotions. The only thing I always need in a book is a happy ending. I don't mind cliffhangers as long as I have the next sequel in my hands, and I don't have a problem with love triangles.

What I can't tolerate: Incestuous relationships. Stereotypical characters. Major similarities to other books. BAD WRITING.

I dive in books with close to no informations about it. I hate spoilers or any blurb that can make me guess what the story is about. I like to go in blind.

Review #3 : Instincts by Rachel Renee

"Instincts: A way of thinking or feeling that is not learned.
Instincts: Drivers of behaviors.
Instincts: Help us to survive."

Instincts: The Savannah PD series.
Volume 1: Detective Eliza Sheppard.

Blurb:

An abandoned factory in the dead of night—urine and decay permeating the air, setting the scene for the most recent horror film—only this isn’t the movies. The silhouette of the person hanging from the rafters is real life and the beginning of a case.
I’m detective Eliza Sheppard and it’s my job to determine what has happened to someone at the end of their journey here on earth. It’s my job to catch the guys or gals who felt it was in them to end that person’s journey. And it’s my job to put those criminals behind bars. Armed with my team of detectives, and most importantly my instincts, I set out to find what happened to respected Savannah business woman, Loretta Michaels. With little evidence and doubts from others, I am driven to follow a lead that many others suspect could be a wild goose chase. Will my instincts lead me to a killer? And how far am I willing to go to bring the killer to justice?

The book follows the journey of detective Eliza and her team to find their Mystery Man who commited an atrocious murder. The story keeps you invested and intrigued to know what's happening next until the last chapter.

The main character Eliza is a strong woman with strong instincts that help her solve her case. She's likeable, fun, and smart.

Beautifully written, highly unpredictable, and most importantly enjoyable.

The book is not like any other detective/mystery book out there. It is unique on its own, intriguing, and overall beautiful. It was really fun reading it and extremely enjoyed its ending. It really reminded me why I liked mystery books in the first place: the anticipation and enjoyment of trying to guess the killer with the characters. And what's even more beautiful about this book is, I never guessed right.

Its epilogue makes me want to read more.

Verdict: 4 STARS ★★★★

Recommend the book and the author.

Review #2 : Simple Perfection by Abbi Glines

“In all her twisted perfection she had made me fall helplessly in love with her. A life without her in it seemed pointless.”

Rosemary beach series.
Spin off of the TOO FAR series.
Second part of the Perfection serie.

BlurbWoods had his perfect life mapped out for him. Rise up the ranks of the family business. Marry the rich girl of his parents’ dreams. Pretend that wealth and privilege was all he’d ever wanted. Then a girl named Della breezed into town, a beautifully imperfect stranger who captured his heart and opened his eyes to a new kind of future. Woods is ready and willing to sacrifice everything for her when the sudden death of his father leaves him with his mother to care for and a business to manage.

Della is determined to be strong for Woods, even as she’s quietly falling to pieces. No matter how far from home she’s run, the ghosts of her past have never stopped haunting her. Struggling to hide her true feelings from Woods, Della fears she can’t be his rock without dragging him down into the darkness with her. But is she strong enough to let go of the last thing holding her together?

I have really loved the first installement of this series. I loved Woods and Della's love story, and this book satisfied those needs. As the one before, it was a very enjoyable read.

I loved Della's improvement and how she became a stronger woman to fight for what she wanted.

Woods on the other hand was... meh. I really loved him at times, but on other occasions he just wasn't appealling to me.

I really wanted this read to be a five stars worthy, like Twisted Perfection. But I would be dishonest if I gave it 5 stars just because I love the author and the first installement. For me, right before the last chapters it was worthy of 4 stars right untilwhen Abbi decided to add an unexpected and unnecessary "incident" . I ugly cried with that and I was really mad. So it lost an other star from me, but I still enjoyed reading it and would definitely recommend it.

Verdict: 3 STARS★★★

Review #1 : Twisted Perfection by Abbi Glines

"Sometimes our imperfections are what makes us special"

Spin-off from the Too Far trilogy.
First book of the Perfection serie
Woods and Della's story

BLURB: Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. There was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…

Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.

What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.
The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…

She was trapped by her past
He was quarantined by his future

SPOILER FREE REVIEW:

I loved everything concerning this novel!!! The characters for me are unforgettable and very likeable.

Woods Kerrington is extremely sexy, protective, gentle, and all kinds of Alpha male. *swoon*.
Della Sloane on the other hand is sweet, innocent, fragile, kind, and beautiful.

The story was flowing at the right pace, and didn't contain any useless scenes that wouldn't contribute in the build up of the plot. Beautiful writing, just what you'd expect from Abbi Glines.

The characters' struggles  are very understandable. Nothing over the top, with a very deep and hard past belonging to Della that makes it even a more meaningful and valuable book.

It's a fun, sweet, romantic, and witty read with a small dark turn to it.

P.S: A small cliffhanger, although it is not of a big importance.

VERDICT:  5 STARS ★★★★★

Highly recommended
